WISH LIST

We gratefully acknowledge the generosity of the Faculties of Science and Engineering & Graduate Studies at Laurentian University, The National Let's Talk Science Partnership Program, all their supporters and all of our partners. We have been given many resources in our first four years in the Partnership Program, including a computer, printer, software, an incredible biotech kit, other hands-on science kits, an office, phone, secretarial support, professional training, power point projector, office supplies and money for travel. We have a qualified LU-staff person dedicated to coordinating the program, which is a unique situation to Laurentian University.

This is a big year for climate change. With the economic downturn if you have money to spare please consider donating to a post-secondary institution, a science outreach organization or climate change organization.

Our first three non-monetary wishes for the fall session of 2009 were granted !!! Thanks to all our partners for:
- promoting the movie the Age of Stupid
-
www.350.org's International Day of Climate Action on October 24
- www.350.org's Vigil for Survival

I have big wishes for the winter session 2010 ...
For the position of Science Outreach Coordinator to have full-time funding and a three year contract. I have never asked for this before but the time is now to start planning for the longer term. Additionally, I would like a part-time assistant for the summer session. Why you may ask? Although I have tried very hard to make this job be less than full-time, it is more than full-time. I work evenings, weekends and a lot of the time outside of the 9:00am -3:00 pm times. Plus I believe this position has economic value my community.
